What is the difference?
It’s super common for customers to use the term real estate agent and REALTOR® interchangeably, but they are not the same. Not every real estate agent is a REALTOR®. Both must be licensed by the State to deal with any real estate transactions but the main difference is someone with the credentials as a REALTOR® is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®.
“The core purpose of the National Association of REALTORS® is to help its members become more profitable and successful”
It also mandates that its members subscribe to their Code of Ethics. Now, with that said, it doesn’t mean that every REALTOR® is actually honest and ethical, but it tries to shape the real estate world into a trustworthy industry.
At REMI Realty, we strive on building lasting relationships with all of our customers, and try to make it a fun and enjoyable experience. Buying and/or selling a home involves a lot of emotions, so you want to make sure you hire a REALTOR® that puts your best interests first. Call us today if you are in the market to purchase a new home or sell your current home! Oh, and we are ALL members of National Association of REALTORS®!
